S.I.M.B.: Monday superblues
10/07/13 || gk
“Satan is my bitch” or S.I.M.B. is a pretty standard stoner metal band from the Netherlands. There’s absolutely nothing new here and the band basically belt out 8 solid hard rock songs with a thick production and a fuzzy guitar tone. The vocalist has a nice half shouty approach that works with the burly, biker rock like grooves. The lyrics occasionally get a bit silly like on album opener “Monday” but it is decent fun and the band keeps things to the point. “Monday superblues” is another one of those middling stoner rock/ metal albums with a few catchy songs that will make you nod your head when it’s playing but doesn’t really have a lot of recall value. Overall, S.I.M.B. sound like they could be a fun opening act on the bill and entertain for 20 minutes but not a lot else right now.
6/10: Not bad but nothing great either.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
